History of Paraffin Wax Treatments
Used since the days of the Roman Empire, warm paraffin wax has been lauded for its therapeutic properties. The Romans would spread the (not too) hot waxes on the body in preparation for their therapeutic massage.

  • Later, the French used to spread melted paraffin wax on wounds to accelerate healing
  • During World War I, the British used paraffin wax therapy as a protocol to treat orthopaedic disorders in military hospitals

For several decades doctors have been prescribing paraffin wax treatments for conditions such as:-
Fibromyalgia, cracked heels, dry hands, calluses, pigmentation (spots)

Whether you work outside for a living or wash your hands a lot; hands and feet can take quite a beating. Add dry winterised weather and you could be talking about some painful hands and feet. Paraffin wax helps to restore some moisture back into the skin increasing the blood circulation and improving the colour of one's skin tone.

OR you may just feel like being pampered.

What is a paraffin wax treatment?
It is a wax that is melted down to a certain temperature, once melted, your hands and feet are coated with several layers of wax. When sufficient wax has been applied, your hands or feet are placed into a wax polythene bag and wrapped in a towel. This is then left on your hands or feet between 10-15 minutes.

The trapped heat will build up under the wax, stimulating the sweat and sebaceous glands, the heat eases muscle tension, joint pain and in addition the skin's pores, allowing the moisturising properties to seep into the skin. This is a relaxing and healing experience. Afterwards, the wax is gently pulled away from your hands or feet.

What are the other benefits of paraffin wax?

  • RSI
  • Arthritis
  • Bursitis
